Vacation Cabins at the lake

My extended family (over 80 people - infants to 80 yrs old) came to this resort for the first time last week Wed-Sun. We had a blast! The units were very clean, well maintained, and nicely decorated/furnished. Each unit is stocked with basic cooking needs and they had everything we needed. While the units themselves are not brand new, many (if not all) were newly renovated/remodeled and were actually much nicer than expected. The size of this resort was perfect in my opinion (I think there are 15 or 16 units of varying sizes.) It is an excellent venue for any family/friend gathering because you won't be lost in a sea of strangers.

The resort is situated on a hillside, so there are quite a few stairs. However, we just booked those who might struggle with the stairs in units nearest to our gathering areas on the lower level. Some family members also brought ATVs (which can be rented in the area.) Those also worked great for those who had difficulty walking the hills, or problems climbing stairs.

The management was exceptional! They are on-site and very responsive. It was clear that the resort is home for them and they take excellent care of the property. They were super kind and accomodating. I've worked with many hotel/resort managers as I've been a meeting planner for over 20 years. I can honestly say that Jada Thacker is one of the best managers I've ever worked with! She didn't miss a detail.

We had an amazing stay at this resort and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The three bedroom unit was incredibly comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with an open concept that made it easy for everyone to relax and spend time together both inside and out.
One of our favorite features was the outdoor space. Just steps from our cabin, there were multiple seating areas to choose from depending on the vibe we wanted. We loved having the option to sit directly in the sun on the turf and watch the boats come in, or unwind under the shaded patio for a more laid back feel. It really offered the best of both worlds.
The staff also went above and beyond to make our stay special. On our second day, they took the time to check in with us to ensure we were enjoying our room and to see if there was anything they could do to make our experience even better. That level of attentiveness did not go unnoticed.

We recently stayed in one of the 2 bedroom units for a full week while the rest of our daughters' U12 softball team filled up several other units on the property, and it could not have been a better fit for a big group like ours. The owners were incredibly accommodating and responsive throughout our stay, answering questions quickly and making sure everyone was settled in comfortably.
All the units are newly updated and ours was exceptionally clean on arrival. The whole property is clearly well maintained, from the grounds to the common areas. Having a washer and dryer on property was a huge bonus with a team full of girls going through uniforms, towels, and swimsuits every day.
Having multiple units close together made it easy to coordinate with the other families, while still having enough space. The kids loved being able to go back and forth between units and the parents loved that the beach and pool were visible from one of our units and all times.
The location was also fantastic — less than 5 minutes from Target, Starbucks, HyVee, and other everyday essentials, which made it super easy to grab groceries, snacks, and anything else our group needed without losing a lot of time.
Highly recommend Sunset Beach Resort to any family or group looking for a comfortable, well-run home base at the Lake of the Ozarks!
